Nancy Pelosi to exploit Sandy Hook at SOTU tonight

Despicable woman.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA), is going to bring a fourth-grader from Newtown, CT tonight to the SOTU address by President Obama.

Standing on the caskets of the dead to make them into soapboxes is her plan, of course. So similar to when Obama brought kids onto the stage for his gun-grab speech.

These people are despicable and totally clueless. No one believes their feigned and forced compassion for a second. They should be askamed of themselves, indeed.

Here is the letter the fourth-grader wrote to Pelosi that grabbed her heart. I wish I could have written this well in fourth grade.

Dear Representative Pelosi and Members of Congress,

My name is [REMOVED] and I am a 4th grade student in Newtown, CT.  After the shooting in my town, I started an online petition asking for help from the President and Congress to change the gun laws.  It got a lot of support from all over America, but then I had to take it down because the police were worried about my safety.  What everyone in Newtown wants, is for you to ban semi automatic weapons and large capacity magazines and to make everyone use gun safes.  This is important so that a person cannot shoot many people at once, and/or injure people badly.  Semi-automatic weapons and large capacity magazines end lives and put lives at risk.  This ban will help prevent individuals, families and communities from suffering the way we are in Newtown.

In Newtown’s municipal center, there are hundreds of thousands of cards and pictures from children and adults from all across America.  It’s so sad.  I think the people against changing gun laws should walk through the long hallway and read one card out of every box, to realize how many people want this change.  We would all appreciate anything you could do to help.

Thank you for your help.

    Donald,

I’m not playing ignorant. I honestly don’t see how this is exploitation. Nancy Pelosi gains NOTHING from giving a voice to young children who can’t vote. If she were more concerned about getting advantages, she’d join the NRA and let the children fend for themselves. Or, at the very least, she’d let someone else take up this fight. There’s nothing for her own personal gain to exploit here.

And I’m not really a liberal. I’m against affirmative action, usually pro-death penalty, and favor cutting entitlements that are driving our government out of business. We’re probably not that far off on most issues.

      B,

I have taken the time to read your blog. Not all of it, mind you, but enough of it to ascertain that you are a liberal in mine eyes. You cannot separate yourself from your Asian heritage, which means, to me, you want to cling to it as a means of giving your voice some credibility. Instead of being an American, you need to be thought of as an Asian-American. This is segregation to me, and wholly unfair. I refuse to look at you as anything other than an American, B. A misguided American, but still an American. Your ancestry means nothing to me at all.

And I am not pro-death penalty. You presume this because I am a Conservative, but you have presumed incorrectly. Being 100% pro-Life, I do not support the death penalty. The God I call as Father will handle judgment when it comes time. My desires or needs in this mater are unimportant.

We are greatly distanced upon the issues, you and I. Do I even need to mention the Second Amendment, and compare our views on it? Not at all, sir.

However, I say these things to you without malice or ill-intent. I appreciate, still, your politeness and courtesy given to me as I commented at your blog. I will not forget that.

Thanks, Donald. Much respect from me to you, also. :)

Probably a bit off-topic, but I too see myself as just an American. An Asian American, certainly, but also an American. But as you allude to, our experiences, I feel, aren’t always homogenous. I don’t feel I “cling” to my Asian heritage as an offensive measure. Rather it’s because I’m involved in the arts, and there aren’t many opportunities for genuine Asian American stories in the arts. Even black people, who’ve been here in larger numbers for a longer period of time, face these difficulties. Look at what happened when George Lucas no less tried to make a film about black people in the military. Even such soft bigotry has big consequences.

Anyway, I’d love to further engage in dialogue in real time with you or your peers. I think dialogue can be helpful. We can even do a cross-blog podcast if you like. I really do think that we have a lot more similarities than might be apparent.

          B,

Then drop the Asian-American label. Let me ask, if I may: did you come here directly from your country of ancestry? If you did, then I can see the relevance in being labelled as an “Asian-American”, since you really would be. Otherwise, if not, and if your lineage can be traced to American soil first, then just be an American, my friend, and be done with it.

And did you need to compare yourself and your situation (as you see it) to blacks in America? Really? Come on, B. If you want to have a serious dialogue with me, you’ll need to drop the ‘racism behind every tree’ mentality. It only serves to make you appear like you have an agenda.

I speak openly and without restraint when it comes to ‘racial issues’ in America. The weaker-minded and the victimhood class view me as being a raaacist because of it, but I simply have not the time to care or attend to their sensitive needs. We have whites, blacks, browns, yellows, reds, etc, etc, and by God we are the Greatest Nation on the planet because of this! I refuse to segregate us, at all, EVER, for the sake of political correctness or entitlements.

Ball is on your court. ;)

  • Donald Borsch Jr.

Come on, B. Please do not insult my intelligence by playing ignorant here. You’re not stupid. You know it’s exploitation, but you refuse to see it because you’re a liberal. C’mon.

    Donald,

How is this exploiting Sandy Hook? Whenever there’s a shooting due in part to lax gun laws in our country, there are victims. There are the obvious victims, such as the one’s who are killed, but then there are victims like this 4th grader who have to attend the schools that are the targets of people who unlawfully use guns.

I think Nancy Pelosi should be applauded for bringing American citizens closer to where the decisions on our laws are made. I would have no objection if gun rights advocates did the same. We all have a stake in our federal government’s decisions.

    Cheers!
    B.
